Prayer Against Halloween

Praying Against the Idolatry of Halloween

One of the biggest strongholds in the Church today is the celebration of Halloween. The reason that it has become a stronghold has to do with the spiritual deception behind it. It has been accepted in certain congregations of the Church as a Christian holiday (holy day), but there is nothing Christian or holy about it. The truth about Halloween is that it is the Christianization of the idolatrous Celtic feast of Samhain (a celebration of the dead) by the Roman Catholic Church. It is the Roman Catholic Church that established the Western Church celebrations (holidays: holy days), not the Protestant church, Congregational churches, or Pentecostal and Charismatic churches. Yet, many of the different denominations and congregations of the Church have followed after the error of the Roman Catholic Church, all of which are not supported by scripture in the liturgy of the Church or its doctrine. And this error began during the dark ages after the apostolic age when the Church for all intents and purposes was apostate: a religious institution with a form of godliness without the power of the Spirit (2Tim. 3:5).

The bottom line is this: regardless of the seemingly innocent face the world or the Church puts on Halloween, it is a satanic event: one of the holy days of Satanists. And it is idolatry, and as such, absolutely forbidden in the Lord’s Church. Make no mistake about this: if the Lord Jesus were present in a church that celebrates Halloween under the guise of evangelism, He would do the same thing to the idolaters that He did to the moneychangers in the temple.

As we near this unholy event, I am calling all Saints to join with me in agreement in prayer to and with the Lord, who sits at the right hand of the Father always making intercession for us, against the Church’s involvement with this unholy event (Eph. 5:11; Gal. 5:19-21; 1Cor. 10:14; Col. 3:5; 1Pet. 4:3). No congregation involved in idolatry can move forward in the things God has prepared for them until they repent, remove the leaven of idolatry and worldliness, forsake the false doctrines and traditions of men, and return to first love with the Lord.

If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. (2Chr. 7:14 NKJV)
Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them. (Mt. 18:19-20 NKJV)
This is the confidence which we have before Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests which we have asked from Him. (1Jn. 5:14-15 NASB)

Father in heaven, be magnified. Lord Jesus be glorified. We come boldly before Your Throne of Grace by the blood of Thy Son Jesus that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Lord, we, Your people, Your Church, plead for Your mercy. Father forgive us for allowing the leaven of the world into Your Sanctuary, and defiling Your temple and house of prayer, Lord. Forgive us for giving the enemy a foothold in the Church by allowing this idolatry to become a tradition in the guise of evangelism. Lord, we ask for Your righteous judgment in this because judgment begins at the house of the Lord. And we judge ourselves in this that we may not be judged. We renounce and repent of all involvement with Halloween in every appearance and form and ritual. We reject it utterly, and plead, Lord, that You would purge us of this iniquity and cleanse us of all the filthiness and unrighteousness of it. In obedience to You, Lord, we come out of this idolatry that we may be reconciled to You, and sanctified to Your purposes for us. We also ask, Lord, that You would close the door firmly to this idolatry occurring in Your Church because when You close the door, Lord, no man may open it. We come into agreement in this intercession for it is written: “if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven.” (Mt. 18:19) Behold, O God, how many are in agreement here on earth, praying that Your will be done. How much more will You answer us favorably when we come into agreement with the prayers You are praying, Lord, as You sit at the right hand of the Father. For it is also written: “This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us-whatever we ask-we know that we have what we asked of him.” (1Jn. 5:14-15) Therefore, we thank You, Lord, that You have heard our prayer, and we wait upon You, Lord, to perform Your word for us. Be exalted, Father. Be glorified, Lord Jesus. Amen.
